About the Trek

The Kuari Pass Trek, also known as the Curzon Trail, is one of the most scenic and beginner-friendly Himalayan treks in Uttarakhand. Famous for its vast alpine meadows (Bugyals) and uninterrupted views of India’s highest peaks, this trek offers a perfect blend of nature, movement, and mindfulness.

From dense oak forests to wide-open grasslands, Kuari Pass keeps you walking in open landscapes for most of the journey—making it ideal for a wellness-focused Himalayan retreat. At its highest point, the trail rewards you with breathtaking views of Mount Nanda Devi, along with Dronagiri, Kamet, Chaukhamba, and Hathi-Ghoda peaks.

This retreat is designed to activate the Heart Chakra, using expansive views, conscious breathing, and mindful movement. The natural openness of Kuari Pass creates a sense of emotional release, grounding, and inner clarity—making it more than just a trek, but a transformational mountain experience.

Day 1: Arrival in Joshimath / Dhak – Grounding

  • Logistics: Drive from Rishikesh to Joshimath (250 km, approx. 9 hrs)

  • Wellness Inclusion:
    Restorative Yoga – Gentle evening stretches to release stiffness from the long journey

  • Stay: Guesthouse / Homestay

Day 2: Dhak to Gulling (9,600 ft) – The Walking Meditation

  • Logistics: Short drive to Dhak, trek approx. 5 km

  • Trail Experience: Dusty mountain paths transitioning into oak forests

  • Wellness Inclusion:
    Mindful Walking – Learning to synchronize breath with steps to conserve energy

  • Stay: Tents in a peaceful forest clearing

Day 3: Gulling to Khullara (11,000 ft) – Sun Energy

  • Logistics: Trek approx. 6 km

  • Trail Experience: Forest trails opening into vast alpine meadows

  • Wellness Inclusion:
    Surya Namaskar – 12 rounds of Sun Salutation facing Dronagiri Peak at sunset

  • Stay: Tents in open meadows

Day 4: Kuari Pass Summit (12,516 ft) – The Vision

  • Logistics: Trek to Kuari Pass and descend to Tali Forest (approx. 8 km)

  • Trail Experience: Ridge walk with iconic Curzon Trail Himalayan views

  • Wellness Inclusion:
    Trataka (Gazing) Meditation – Focused meditation on Mount Nanda Devi to cultivate clarity and inner silence

  • Stay: Tents at Tali / Chitrakantha

Day 5: Auli Ski Slopes via Gorson Bugyal – The Flow

      • Logistics: Trek to Auli via Gorson Bugyal, drive to Joshimath

      • Trail Experience: Walking over velvet-soft alpine meadows

      • Wellness Inclusion:
        Laughter Yoga – A joyful closing session celebrating movement, breath, and connection

Guesthouse stay at Lohajung and camping during trek days

All meals during the trek (Vegetarian & Egg options)

Forest entry permits and camping charges included.

Camping Equipment:

Sleeping bags rated for -10°C, mattresses, kitchen tents, and dining tents

Safety Equipment

Basic first aid kit, and crampons & gaiters (provided when snow conditions require).

Lunch during transit days unless specifically mentioned.

Meals Not Included

Meals during transit on Day 1 and Day 5

Backpack Offloading

Mule or porter charges for backpack offloading (available at extra cost).

Daypack:

20–30L backpack with comfortable shoulder straps.

Warm Clothing:

Down jacket rated for -5°C (essential, especially in winter).

Footwear:

Waterproof trekking shoes with good ankle support and grip.

Sun Protection:
